It’s About That Time
Hi Everyone,
Astute readers may have noticed a recent “From The Archives” post going missing over on Patreon. That’s because I finally got my first takedown notice for violating their content rules. It’s telling to me that the original post wasn’t flagged, only the new one, which makes me think they’ve instituted some sort of automatic or AI filtering for new posts over there. A quick reddit scan turned up a few other folks getting similar notices in the last month-ish, one of whom just put their flagged posts back up verbatim and no one ever said anything else. This makes me think they’re testing out some new filtering process. I don’t know that for sure, but that’s my hunch. Either way, if they had an issue with that specific post, I’m guessing they’re going to have an issue with all of them sooner or later.
I’ve known this was a possibility for a long time now, so back in 2020 I set up a “just in case” page over on SubscribeStar. I never advertised it because I didn’t want to confuse people and there wasn’t a need at the time. Now that time has arrived. Back then, SubscribeStar was also somewhat new and an unknown quantity, but I see other content creators on there with a similarly sized audience who are still going strong. The site isn’t the exact same as Patreon, but it does have many of the same features, including polls, which will allow us to continue the Interactive stories.
I’m going to keep posting on Patreon as usual until they force the issue. With the political landscape being what it is at the moment and all this buzz about eliminating adult content on the internet, I think things are going to get worse before they get better. As such, I just wanted to let everyone know what was going on and where to find me in case the plug gets pulled abruptly. You’re more than welcome to make the switch now if you’re so inclined, or you can wait it out. Whatever choice you make, thank you so much for your time and support. I hope you’ll stay with me even if this ride gets a little bumpy for a minute.
As Cher said in the timeless classic Burlesque - You haven’t seen the last of me.
